The New Walmart
I believe that many people will soon notice a change in Walmart. According to the sign changes both inside the store and on the front of some newer stores, the motto has changed a bit for Walmart. Today - Walmart wants their customers to Save Money and Live Better. What a wonderful notion, but how will Walmart help people to do that?
Saving Money at Discount Stores
Walmart is just one of the many discount stores that offer lower prices because they can buy in such bulk. Shopping for grocery items is especially money saving because they will change their price if the consumer presents a lower price from a comparable store in the area. On top of that, Walmart takes coupons too. Searching the Internet for the phrase, "How Much Money Can People Save at Walmart?" will return hundreds of hits with people, mostly, agreeing that discount mega giant Walmart really does save you money. For official numbers, the estimated savings is about $2500 a year. Cha Ching!
Saving Money by Shopping Less Often
A common problem with shopping at Walmart or other retailer giant is the want to buy more because you are saving money. This can be hampered by shopping less often and keeping your items to one cart only. If the item does not fit in the cart after groceries, it can not be added to this weeks shopping trip. Simple and effective. Gentlemen and ladies - the TV that rests on top of the groceries does not count as fitting in the cart.
Ignore the Walmart Haters
There are people who hate Walmart and will always hate Walmart. These people hop from blog to blog, website to website leaving horrid comments and stories about the discount store. I think this is just plain sad. If Walmart offered the cheapest prices in town on food and you had very little money, you really would choose to buy less to make a point? That is not what saving money is all about.
