Cricket for change: India
March 8th 2008 12:39
Recent series in Australia was constantly in controversy on various non-productive and mostly childish reasons that we could have done without.. But all that ends well is fine enough.
Most importantly it showed amply that no one is invincible. With due regards to Ponting's team, it had surely entered into a self constructed aura of "untouchables" where they thought they could get away with anything in the game of cricket, which was not only shaken, but destroyed by team India. Hope it serves a lesson enough for them, and professionalism will soon replace the pride and attitude.
The game would also serve a great comeback for team India, which definitely needed that boost after defeating most other teams recently. Defeating Australia therefore in two straight finals is definitely a great achievement in contemporary times, especially so on their own soil.
And sachin was almost the life of the game, as he always has been for past many years. Doesn't look like he is 35 years old. I wonder how someone, or for that matter anyone can ever comment on his batting or performance. Do we expect any player to ever reach or even think of scaling the peaks attained by him. And yes, there were many great new faces suggesting a real bright future for team India.
And of course, now we can start preparing for the ultimate, the World Cup too.
Chak De India... We are with u.
